Jeremy owns Shine Insurance Agency with McKenzie. He’s a teacher at heart and he simplifies insurance by giving step by step guidance along the way.

Before Shine, he was an elementary school teacher, helping countless kids fall in love with art, math, science, and writing. Former students remember learning to play hockey in gym class, opening epic businesses in a virtual world called The Businesses Project, and learning to use a sewing machine.

After 13 years of teaching, he decided it was time to change the way people feel about insurance. Jeremy carried the heart of an educator over and he's been making insurance simple for first time home buyers and real estate investors even since. 

Most days Jeremy can be found helping real estate investors by shooting them ball parks, reviewing their policies, and making insurance work for their bottom line.  He's also the host of a multifamily real estate podcast, and the host of Youtube's #1 most watched independent insurance agency channel.

McKenzie co-owns Shine Insurance Agency with Jeremy and serves as CEO.

She’s never met a stranger, even as a kid. This caused some early gray hairs for her parents. That said, she enjoys living her days for her family, including her cats and dogs, all adopted from the local shelter. She volunteered for several years with her super sweet Lab mix, Barney, visiting elders at memory care facilities and fundraising for the Humane Association.. She fills her office with plants, loves her family with all her heart, and leans into laughs.

McKenzie is honored to be connected with hundreds of rad business owners who spend their days cultivating profitable businesses and lives worth living. A native of Bloomington and an insurance nerd for 20 years, McKenzie loves helping people and insurance is a great vehicle for that. Her favorite parts of work are sharing and connecting with fellow small business owners, not only about insurance but also about living our best lives.

She's built Shine to offer a thoughtful experience with a welcoming, knowledgeable team who can help you understand your insurance. She’s been recognized for her work by the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce (Top 10 Under 40), Professional Insurance Agents of Indiana (Young Agent of the Year), and her clients and staff love working with her.

Ashley leads the Shine team with compassion and grace. A resident of Bloomington for over 13 years, they moved from up north to marry a Purdue grad… but they try not to hold that against him since he’s a pretty awesome person. They have two children that make them laugh everyday while amazing them with their creativity.

Ashley is community-driven.  They currently serve as a School Board Trustee, an advisory board member of the Persisterhood Workshop, and coach their kid’s baseball teams.

When not working on community endeavors, you can find them hiking at McCormick’s Creek State Park with their family, reading books on social justice issues, or making art.
